With the New Year comes the time to ponder one’s career choice. Are you happy in your current job or career? If not you do have time to do something about it, even if you have been working for decades. Why not change careers and enjoy doing something you like for the remainder of your working life instead of staying put in something you do not enjoy. People are returning to college and trade schools in record numbers with many of them being older then the traditional college student.

In today’s society it does not matter if you are old or young, anyone can return to school to complete their education or start on a new career path. With the aging population many people have decided to enter the medical or health care field. While not everyone wants to spend 6 or more years in college to become a high paid nurse or doctor, there are many options for much less educational requirements to learn the skills needed for a professional and decent paying allied health care related job.

Remember a person is never too old to return back to school. Sometimes you even see on the news about how people who are 80+ return to college to earn that degree they always wanted. That is really exciting and motivational which should help inspire those who think they are too old to go after their career dreams. And with the health care industry in need of workers now is a great time to explore your options.

One of the more common ones is that of a medical assistant. There are many medical assisting schools located across the county that offer programs ranging from several month, but under a year, to those lasting longer then one year. Depending on your goals and circumstances one of those programs may be calling your name if you have an interest in healthcare.

These days, programming is a very useful skill to have, especially if you are an internet marketer or you work with computers a lot. So where do you learn how to program, and what language should you start off with? Well, it depends on whether you want to learn server side languages (such as PHP) or desktop languages such as C++ (or both). There are tons of good books on programming that are worth reading. If you don’t want to get any books, there are also several excellent tutorials online going through every major programming language, such as the one at w3 schools.

Learning how to program software in any language takes a lot of work. If you have never learnt programming before, then it will take you longer to learn a new language than it would if you had learnt some other programming language before. Fortunately, there are a lot of good books and online tutorials that can teach you HTML, PHP, MySQL, C++ and more. W3 schools is the most well recognised website that has tutorials on programming. You also need to think about why you want to be a programmer, since you can always outsource software creatiion to people.

By evaluating my life and going through career coaching in Denver, I was able to find a job that was more beneficial to my needs. Plus, since I am happier in my job, I have been advancing faster. Not all college degrees are created equal. If you spend your time and money earning any degree, you want to know that the degree will be recognized by your employer and colleges you may attend later in life. It is for that reason that you should know the importance of accredited versus non-accredited online degrees and which one you should choose to pursue.

For those who covet higher pay, the best job titles, and the most responsibility, a Master’s degree is often required. Knowing this, some businesses have begun offering degrees in less time than would normally be necessary. These opportunities to receive an online college degree often are not legal. Be very wary of any business offering college degrees ‘quick and easy’.

In order to advance in your career, your employer may suggest going back to school. That’s well within their rights, and probably a good step for you to consider. However, if you expect them to recognize the additional degree, it will have to come from an accredited school. Non-accredited schools will be overlooked, in most cases, so you’re better off not attempting to get a degree from that type of school.

Ask your manager or HR whether the company helps cover costs of tuition. You might also want to ask if they will accept a degree that you learn online since you will be able to continue to work and go to school at the same time.

Getting a Bachelor’s degree, or higher, has never been easier. In fact, you can get your nursing degree without ever having to step foot inside a classroom or onto a college or university campus. You will want to ensure that any degree program you choose is accredited so that it will be recognized by your current employer, any future employer, or any future school may choose to attend.

In the eyes of most schools or employers, if the course of study you chose is accredited, it won’t make a difference how the degree is obtained. However, you will want to verify this with your own employer.

The National Education Association is one the governing bodies determining whether a school is accredited or not, and all schools will get their accreditation through one of these in order to be considered a valid school. They must meet the standards as determined by the state or federal government. If the school itself, or the program being considered, isn’t accredited, that prospective student would be wise to consider another school or course of study.

Accredited colleges and universities abound, so there’s no sense in taking chances on your degree not being recognized. And, college degrees online are much more readily available than in previous years. Don’t take a chance, search out the online degree program that will both meet your scheduling, financial, and online learning needs.

There are many resources on the Internet pertaining to distance learning programs. Check out several schools, their admission requirements, the available online degree programs, their accreditation status, and all costs associated with attendance. Ask whether student financial aid is available.

Try to understand the advantages and disadvantages of earning your degree online. You can attend an accredited college or university, obtain the degree you want from any college in the country, and do it all in a way that will meet your scheduling needs. You’re not limited to attending classes at a particular time, because online courses are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It’s even possible to receive college financial aid to help pay the bills.

Make sure, however, when you do enroll that you choose a course of study, degree, and educational institution that are accredited. You will save yourself time, effort, and money in the long-run by choosing an accredited school to begin with.

Are you looking for a new, exciting career working construction project manager jobs? This article will tell you a little bit about being a project manager or project manager and also introduce you to two of the tools used for project management- the Project Triangle and the Project Management Triangle.

The Project Triangle is a useful way of envisioning project management when working project management jobs. What the heck is it? Well, draw a triangle, and then at one point write “cheap”, at another write “fast” and at the third point write “good”. The main theory of the Project Triangle is that you can only have two of the three things at any given time. In other words, you can’t have something done in a way that’s good, fast, AND cheap- you have to optimize for the best outcome for any 2 of the three points.

Another useful device, the Project Management Triangle, uses a similar layout but instead attempts to define the relationship between scope, cost and schedule in addition to quality. A project manager estimates how long a project will take by breaking down the overall project into individual tasks called “deliverables”. Quality is a major component of scope, and the amount of time put into each individual task determines overall quality- over the course of a large project, quality can have a large impact on time and/or cost, and the reverse is true as well.

I’m going to shake things up a bit today, and post an article for employers, rather than one for job seekers. This should still be valuable to job seekers, though, as a “through the looking glass” view of how employers view you. The topic today is niche job boards- any board that ends in jobs.com, really, and why you, as an employer, should be using them as part of your recruiting strategy for Accountant Jobs.

Finding a job using the internet is a pretty stressful task, even for a qualified and experienced job seeker. As someone in the recruiting industry, you likely have an intimate knowledge of how many job boards are popping up on the web every single day. Chances are you probably understand how hard it is to know which of your recruiting strategies add value, and which are wastes of time. For that reason, it’s important that you choose job boards that can track your results- in other words; they need to be able to show you what kind of return on investment (ROI) posting on their board is giving you, so that you can focus on posting to boards that are producing quality candidates for your Accounting Jobs openings.

There are many strategies you can use to drive qualified candidates to your company. For example, if you can find the niches on the web where they are hanging out, rather than just using large quantity, national job boards, you are showing them that you are both technically savvy, and attuned to their needs. 2. Resume mining on niche job boards is much easier than it is on big boards- the quantity of course won’t be as great, but you’ll be getting much better quality, and much more highly focused résumés
3. Most niche and association job boards have either no fee, or relatively small fees for posting jobs. This helps your bottom line!

It shouldn’t be too difficult to find niche job boards to post to by doing a simple web search. A good idea would be to look for associations related to your industry- they are as targeted as job boards come, usually don’t charge high fees, and in general have good pools of candidates. Always be on the lookout for good boards that end in jobs.com and you should have a resource stockpile in no time! The security breach at a major online job board last year may have made you a little hesitant to put your resume into online databases during your search for West Virginia Jobs for fear that your contact information will be used for money-making purposes such as direct mail or email marketing or even identity theft. However, there are security measures you can take that will make your online job search more secure.

There is always the “full stop” option of not putting your resume on the Internet at all, but this will mean that employers who are looking for candidates will not be able to find you online- instead, you will need to be proactive, actively monitoring multiple job boards before you find companies looking for candidates with your qualifications. It’s much easier for employers to find qualified candidates when they can search for someone with your qualifications and contact you, making you aware of an opening they might not be advertising on job boards. The work doesn’t stop after you’ve decided where to put your resume. You have to also be very careful when applying to jobs and both opening and responding to email solicitation. Job boards work very hard to ensure that only real jobs get posted, however, a certain amount of junk is bound to get through the filters, so to speak. The old adage- if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is- was never truer than when applied to the Internet. Never, ever give out personal information such as your Social Security number or bank account information- as stated by their privacy policies, a recruiter and/or a job board will never, ever ask for that information in an email.

If you do get a scam or “phishing” type of email and are able to deduce from what job board the sender got your information, it’s in everyone’s best interest for you to let the job board know as soon as possible, and give them as much information about said scam and the person who contacted you as possible. You can also report fraudulent looking job postings. The more aware the job boards are of potential rip-offs, the better job they can do to prevent them in the future.
